Goleadoras Foundation that Empower Girls and Women Through Soccer commits to expand and launch programs around the Americas
September 18, 2023 - During the 2023 Clinton Global Initiative held in New York, Goleadoras was selected, alongside 9 other global organizations, to be part of an ambitious joint project between the Botnar Foundation and the Clinton Foundation: To address the unmet needs of over 1.8 billion adolescents worldwide.
When referring to Goleadoras, Chelsea Clinton, on behalf of the Clinton Foundation, stated, 'Goleadoras is committing to support the emotional and physical well-being of girls through soccer programs in Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, and El Salvador. Their curriculum will focus on helping girls develop critical social and emotional skills on and off the pitch’.
In a world undergoing constant transformation, these young people face unprecedented challenges, from digitalization to climate change. However, they are often excluded from the conversations and decisions that will shape their future. As part of this commitment, Goleadoras will continue its mission to amplify the voices of these young girls to bridge the gender disparity gap.
As part of this commitment, Goleadoras Foundation, renowned for its mission to empower girls and women through soccer, is taking a bold leap forward by expanding its programs. In addition to continuing its impactful initiatives for girls, the foundation is launching groundbreaking projects tailored specifically for formerly incarcerated women across the Americas. These programs are designed to create a positive impact in the lives of these women, offering opportunities for empowerment and community-specific change.
